Finding the best mattress can be somewhat of a challenge as there are so many to choose from. Names like Simmons, Serta, Sealy, Tempurpedic and many others like to make the claim of being one of the best rated mattresses. Well I'm here to tell you that each offers something unique to their mattresses that cater to every type of body and weight. So it really boils down to personal preference when you try them out in deciding what the best mattresses are.

When deciding  here are some things that you should consider as it will in effect determine if it is best bed for you, a mattress set that will last the test of time and claim to be the best especially in you own eyes.

One of the most important parts of a mattress set is the foundation as it will determine how long your mattress will last. The more durable the box spring is the longer your new mattress will last. Think of it as the soles of your runners. Sure you can replace the insoles but as the support of the soles wear down the weaker the support gets.  Expect your mattress to last longer than ten years, if it is older than that then odds are it is time to get a new one.

The mattress itself is very important as that is what you sleep on. What you should be focusing on is the amount of coils in the mattress the gauge of steel of the coils as well as the interconnections between them all. The lesser the amount of coils and the quality of gauge steel, the less support you will get. More importantly if the coils are not inner connected with a reasonable amount of cross wiring you can count on your mattress sagging early in its use as each coil will not be supported collectively with the rest of the coil system. So the heavier you are it would be in your best interest to get a high coiled mattress or get the best gauge for the best support, as well as a well wired system with in the bed. Granted it all depends on your comfort level as you will find that higher coiled and gauge often determine firmness.

Believe it or not the very top layer of your mattress has little to do with the overall mattress support. It is really there for added comfort to make it softer. Whether it be wool, cotton or foams, be aware that it may feel great in the showroom but after years of use you can count on most of that cushy feel disappearing.

There is a new mattress on the market that is made of foam and has been rated one of the best in the market. But just not any foam layer this foam is called memory foam.

This is a lot to take in when you are looking for the best bed for yourself. Remember that it is an investment in "you". Better sleep means being more active and productive, so spend you money wisely and take your time when buying a mattress set that is best for you.
